Taste of Chicago

Summer is right around the corner! Chicago summers feature some of the best festivals in the country. From smaller neighborhood festivals to large ones like Lollapalooza and Taste of Chicago, living in Chicago provides you with great entertainment options all summer long.

Here are some of our favorite Chicago summer festivals:

Taste of Chicago – July 8-12

We love Taste of Chicago for a few reasons. One, it’s located right in Grant Park. That makes it easy our Chicago Loop apartment residents to get to. Second, it features some of the best food Chicago has to offer. Nothing beats grabbing a bite at one of the many food stands at Taste of Chicago and strolling through the festival. Taste of Chicago also features some great live music, much of which is performed by local Chicagoans!

Chicago Air & Water Show – August 15-16

The Chicago Air & Water Show is great fun for all ages. Many of DK Living’s downtown Chicago apartments provide exceptional views of the show. Whether you’re watching from the pool and sundeck of 1130 S Michigan, watching from the Gold Coast at 1350/1360 N Lake Shore Drive or taking in the action from elsewhere, you’ll be entertained all day long by the variety of planes and boats on exhibit during the Chicago Air & Water Show.

Lollapalooza – July 31-August 2

Lollapalooza is one of the largest yearly music festivals in the country. Lucky for us, it happens in Chicago’s Grant Park! If you want the chance to see Paul McCartney, Metallica, Alt-J and hundreds of other acts, Lollapalooza is the place to be.

Taste of Randolph Street – July 13-15

Chicago’s neighborhoods each hold their own festivals each year. They’re a great way to explore the neighborhood, try local food options and see talented, lesser-known musicians perform. Taste of Randolph Street is one of our favorites. Located in the West Loop, where 180 N Jefferson is also located, Taste of Randolph Street brings in some great, diverse music and allows you to try food from some of the hottest West Loop restaurants.

Chicago Jazz Festival – September 3-6

Located in Millennium Park, this free festival is a great way to spend your Labor Day weekend. The park’s Pritzker Pavilion is a fantastic place to enjoy live music, have a picnic and relax. Whether you’re a jazz enthusiast or just enjoy spending time in the park, you’ll have a great time.
